RUTHS

JUST LIKE RUTH.

Just like Ruth many of us go through situations that leave us hopeless and do not know what or to whom to lean on. Just as Ruth stayed with Naomi, many of us stick around people or ideas or advise we think will help us hang in there until we sometimes see or never see that break through. Many of people assume what Naomi told Ruth to do was appropriate but I will say that No but what Boaz did was exceptional. From the day I read this scripture I have never had the revelation that other people see that this is a metaphor that Ruth first approached Boaz meaning it was a door to make women approach men or Rather women making the first move. But the revelation I have always gotten is a bruised woman throwing herself in a situation that she didn’t know how it would turn out to be. Regardless of what happened in our lives or our situations, compromise is not the solution. Furthermore, many of us have gotten unscriptural solutions from people we think are men of God or elders in society but just as Abraham’s servant leaned on the God of Abraham not Abraham to find a wife for Isaac. All of us are used to look into what or where people who are giving counsel are getting inspiration from. It might be fear, desperation or they just want you to fail because they failed too and they are jealous of anyone’s success in the field they failed. Am not saying that this was Naomi’s intention but look at people around you today. Many ideas, solutions may come up but as long as they are out of God’s will they will not bring you joy. Look many women in the world got married not by first going to the man’s bedroom first rather getting to know the person first and for us Christians, we have a principle of un equally yoked people and not only that not every equally yoked person is for you. Consult the creator who knew you and everyone before they were born. Ruth making the first move would have been, her going to Boaz and telling him, I know you are single and I think if you give me a chance, we can make it work. I have seen many people who are entangled in situations or who have just gotten out of a situation and wanting to entangle them in another situation.

Let’s actually read the story of ruth below;

Ruth and Boaz at the Threshing Floor3 One day Ruth’s mother-in-law Naomi said to her, “My daughter, I must find a home[a] for you, where you will be well provided for. Now Boaz, with whose women you have worked, is a relative of ours. Tonight he will be winnowing barley on the threshing floor. Wash, put on perfume, and get dressed in your best clothes. Then go down to the threshing floor, but don’t let him know you are there until he has finished eating and drinking. When he lies down, note the place where he is lying. Then go and uncover his feet and lie down. He will tell you what to do.”“I will do whatever you say,” Ruth answered. So she went down to the threshing floor and did everything her mother-in-law told her to do.When Boaz had finished eating and drinking and was in good spirits, he went over to lie down at the far end of the grain pile. Ruth approached quietly, uncovered his feet and lay down. In the middle of the night something startled the man; he turned—and there was a woman lying at his feet!“Who are you?” he asked.“I am your servant Ruth,” she said. “Spread the corner of your garment over me, since you are a guardian-redeemer[b] of our family.”10 “The Lord bless you, my daughter,” he replied. “This kindness is greater than that which you showed earlier: You have not run after the younger men, whether rich or poor. 11 And now, my daughter, don’t be afraid. I will do for you all you ask. All the people of my town know that you are a woman of noble character. 12 Although it is true that I am a guardian-redeemer of our family, there is another who is more closely related than I. 13 Stay here for the night, and in the morning if he wants to do his duty as your guardian-redeemer, good; let him redeem you. But if he is not willing, as surely as the Lord lives I will do it. Lie here until morning.”14 So she lay at his feet until morning, but got up before anyone could be recognized; and he said, “No one must know that a woman came to the threshing floor.”15 He also said, “Bring me the shawl you are wearing and hold it out.” When she did so, he poured into it six measures of barley and placed the bundle on her. Then he[c] went back to town.16 When Ruth came to her mother-in-law, Naomi asked, “How did it go, my daughter?”Then she told her everything Boaz had done for her 17 and added, “He gave me these six measures of barley, saying, ‘Don’t go back to your mother-in-law empty-handed.’”18 Then Naomi said, “Wait, my daughter, until you find out what happens. For the man will not rest until the matter is settled today.”

Share your story with us and with prayers and your commitment to wait on God for redemption you will get through this. In my perspective if Boaz was among many of the existing men now would have gone ahead and led Ruth in another hurtful situation and I really give it to Boaz who told her my dear this is not the way things are done, go back home and we do things the right way. I know you are desperate and tired of hanging in there but do not get out of bad situation and lead yourself into another bad situation whatever you’re striving for isn’t worth the great relationship with you can have with yourself.

Share your story. I promise you can get on the other side; you do not need to compromise.
